Page 2 Note of Township of Stainforth Charities:
1692 will of Thomas Foster left £5 p.a. for
the poor of Giggleswick.
Poor Allotment left by person called Thornton
about 15 acres on Giggleswick Scar let at £61 p.a. in 1843.
Poor Close, 2 acres 3 rods 33 perches adjacent
to Brackenber Lane let in 1894 for £9.6s.6d by the Church Wardens.
Church Wardens distribute the above in 4
equal parts to the poor of Giggleswick; Settle; Stainforth and Rathmell
with Langcliffe (the latter in proportion 3/5ths:2/5ths)
Page 42 Sept 27 1905 Proposal to send a letter to Secretary General
Post Office London asking for a Telegraph for Stainforth.
Page 43 Nov15 1905 Proposal to ask Midland Railway to provide station
at Stainforth.
Page 45 24 Nov 1905 Unanimous vote for petition to Directors of Midland
Railway for Stainforth station. |
